A Family Legacy of Utility Service—Rooted in the Southeast Since 1965

Tomberlin began with a simple need—identified by a lineman in the field who saw firsthand the importance of preserving power poles for long-term safety and reliability. That lineman was Frank Drose Sr., and in 1965 he founded what would become Tomberlin Pole Treatment.

What started as one man with a mission has grown into a multi-generation, family-owned business built on quality, purpose, and trust. Today, the company is led by Frank Drose III and continues to provide essential services to electric cooperatives, utilities, and businesses across South Carolina and Florida.

In 2024, we launched Tomberlin Utilities as a dedicated branch focused on lightning protection and grounding solutions. From deep-driven ground rods to exothermic grounding grids, we help protect high-value infrastructure from damaging electrical surges—bringing reliability where it matters most.

Our goal has never been to become the biggest name in the industry. We’d rather be the name people trust when it’s time to get the job done right. With hands-on leadership, proven field practices, and a commitment to transparency, Tomberlin is proud to serve as an extension of the teams we support.

Why We Do What We Do

We believe in work that matters—solutions that last, relationships that are real, and keeping a legacy alive through honest, consistent service.

Our work helps utilities understand the health of their systems, plan ahead, and extend the life of critical infrastructure. And whether we’re in a field, a backyard, or a substation, we do it with pride, professionalism, and purpose.
